Das Gezerre um den Industriestrompreis

Abstract

Anders als in der politischen Diskussion suggeriert, ist es kaum mehr der Gaspreis, der den Strompreis erhöht. Haupttreiber ist inzwischen der CO2-Preis, den Gas- und Kohlekraftwerke für ihre Emissionen zahlen müssen. Aber auch diese Kosten werden über den Strompreis der energieintensiven Industrie in Rechnung gestellt. Was in der politischen Diskussion auch zu kurz kommt: Für diese Kostensteigerungen gibt es in der EU bereits ein rechtlich abgestimmtes Instrument, die Strompreiskompensation. Der Übergang zum Brückenstrompreis ist europarechtlich unwägbar und er würde zu einer drastischen Ausweitung des Empfängerkreises führen. Eine Ausweitung der Subventionen gefährdet darüber hinaus die Investitionen in die nötige Infrastruktur.
