Abstract

Climate change is one of the greatest global challenges of our time. To achieve the emission goals, there has recently been increasing pressure on the financial sector to make its contribution. Climate change is too important an issue to rely on seemingly simple solutions. In the corporate world, an ecologically oriented investment policy is possible. But it requires more extensive intervention by investors in the business policies of companies. In the case of public finances, such investor influence is prohibited for good democratic reasons.
