Spezifika des ostdeutschen Wohnungsmarktes – Teil 2: Altersgerechte Ausstattungund Barrierefreiheit des ostdeutschen Wohnungsbestandes

Abstract

Aktuell gelten in Ostdeutschland nur rund 4,4 % der Wohnungen mit mindestens einer Person im Alter von 65 Jahren und mehr als barrierefrei. Angesichts der künftig zunehmenden Anzahl von Personen mit altersbedingten Bewegungseinschränkungen besteht ein erheblicher Bedarf an altersgerechtem Umbau des Wohnraums auch im Wohnungsbestand. Der Umsetzung entsprechender Anpassungsmaßnahmen stehen jedoch die damit verbundenen Baukosten sowie häufig auch technische Schwierigkeiten entgegen. Der Artikel thematisiert dieses Problem und leitet daraus wirtschaftspolitische Handlungsempfehlungen ab.
