Entwicklung und Zukunft der europäischen Kohäsionsförderung

Abstract

Die Kohäsionspolitik ist bereits seit 25 Jahren ein zentraler Politikbereich der EUROPÄISCHEN UNION. Sie ist der Ausdruck eines Bestrebens nach wirtschaftlichem und sozialem Zusammenhalt zwischen den Gemeinschaftsmitgliedern. Die Kohäsionsförderung stellt somit eine feste Größe in der europäischen, nationalen sowie regionalen Förderlandschaft dar. Die anfangs entwickelten Regeln und Verfahren wurden zwar über die Jahre den aktuellen Gegebenheiten angepasst, finden aber auch heute noch teilweise unverändert Anwendung. In diesem Beitrag soll anlässlich des letzten Jahres der aktuellen Förderperiode zum einen ein Blick auf die Entstehung und Entwicklung der europäischen Kohäsionsförderung geworfen werden. Zum anderen soll auch auf die Veränderungen geblickt werden, welche die künftige Förderperiode im Speziellen für Ostdeutschland und den Freistaat Sachsen bringt.
