Abstract

Medienberichten zufolge plant die Bayerische Staatsregierung, die Verfassungsmäßigkeit der Regelungen zum Länderfinanzausgleich gerichtlich klären zu lassen; das Land Hessen erwägt, sich dieser Klage anzuschließen. Hintergrund dessen ist, dass sich die Geberländer im Finanzausgleich – neben Bayern und Hessen auch Baden-Württemberg und Hamburg – durch die derzeit geltenden Regeln finanziell überfordert fühlen, weil sie einen erheblichen Teil ihrer überdurchschnittlichen Steuereinnahmen an Länder mit geringerer Finanzkraft abzuführen hätten.
