Zum Stand des Aufholprozesses bei Produktivität und Pro-Kopf-Einkommen in Zentraleuropa

Abstract

Während in Tschechien 1998 bereits vergleichsweise viele rentable Arbeitsplätze bereitgestellt werden konnten, war Sachsen hier weniger erfolgreich. Auf der anderen Seite ist in Sachsen das erzeugte Einkommen pro Kopf deutlich stärker gestiegen als in Tschechien. Die günstigere Einkommenssituation erklärt sich aus der deutlich höheren Arbeitsproduktivität in Sachsen, die vor allem in der ersten Hälfte der neunziger Jahre gegenüber dem europäischen Niveau aufgeholt hat. Tschechien ist dabei, wie in Polen und Ungarn, weit langsamer vorangekommen. In der zweiten Hälfte der neunziger Jahre konnte allerdings nur mehr die sächsische Industrie als einziger Wirtschaftsbereich die Arbeitsproduktivität überdurchschnittlich steigern.
