Abstract

Mit dem neuen Jahr beherrschen andere Sichtweisen die wirtschaftspolitische Diskussion. Trotz relativ guenstiger Prognosen wird die Wirtschaftsentwicklung in den Vereinigten Staaten ganz anders beurteilt. Es hat den Anschein, als ob Stimmungsschwankungen zunehmen. Mehr und aktuelle Informationen dank Internet und digitaler Kommunikation scheinen bisher nicht zu einer besseren und verlaesslicheren Beurteilung der wirtschaftlichen Situation gefuehrt haben. Die Probleme und Wirkungen der EU-Erweiterung bleiben in Europa auf der Tagesordnung. Auftauchen werden alte Fragen, aber auch dieses Themenfeld ist gut fuer Ueberraschungen.
