Ungarn auf dem Weg in die EU

Abstract

Neben Polen, Tschechien, Estland und Slowenien ist Ungarn eines der fünf Länder, die für eine EU-Erweiterung in Betracht kommen. Ungarn weist auch 1999 weiterhin ein starkes Wirtschaftswachstum auf und auch der Außenhandel entwickelt sich sehr positiv. Es darf jedoch nicht übersehen werden, daß die wirtschaftlichen Kriterien noch zu erfüllen sind und die Anpassung an das gemeinschaftliche Verwaltungs- und Rechtsgefüge fortzusetzen ist. Die EU-Kommisssion hebt die bereits erzielten Fortschritte Ungarns auf diesem Weg gegenüber denjenigen der anderen EU-Beitrittsstaaten positiv hervor und die ungarische Regierung betont, daß sie bis 2002 die Kriterien von Kopenhagen vollständig erfüllen möchte.
