Investitionen des ostdeutschen verarbeitenden Gewerbes 1998 und 1999: zwei Stufen der "Normalisierung" ; Innovationen und Investitionen

Abstract

In seiner jüngsten Investitionsumfrage in den neuen Ländern und Ostberlin hat das ifo Institut ostdeutsche Industrieunternehmen zu den 1998 getätigten und 1999 vorgesehenen Investitionen befragt. - Im verarbeitenden Gewerbe der neuen Bundesländer hatte die Investitionsintensität (Investitionen je Beschäftigten) Mitte der neunziger Jahre mehr als doppelt so hohe Werte wie in den alten Ländern erreicht. Der unvermeidliche Normalisierungsprozeß hat jetzt (in den Jahren 1998 und 1999) sichtbar eingesetzt, während er in den beiden vorausgegangenen Jahren (1996 und 1997) auf aggregierter Ebene des gesamten ostdeutschen verarbeitenden Gewerbes noch nicht so deutlich zu erkennen war.
