Aufholprozeß Ost - ein geeignetes Wahlkampfthema?

Abstract

Die wirtschaftlichen Perspektiven für Ostdeutschland sind zur Zeit alles andere als ermutigend: 1,9% Wachstum des BIP im Jahr 1998 und 2,5% im nächsten Jahr. Die Politik ist gezwungen, sich den Problemen des Aufbaus Ost zu stellen. So sollen endlich hieb- und stichfeste Strategien entwickelt und realisiert werden um die Arbeitslosigkeit abzubauen und günstige Investitions- und Standortbedingungen zu schaffen, um den Aufbau Ostdeutschlands zu einer wettbewersfähigen Wirtschaft voranzutreiben. Gefordert sind weiter Konzepte und Visionen, die den Wähleren die Zukunftsangst nehmen und ihnen die Zuversicht geben, daß sie auf mittlere Sicht weiter aktiv und erfolgreich am Wirtschaftgeschehen teinehmen können.
