Sächsisches Verbraucherpreisniveau auch 1997 niedriger als in Westdeutschland

Abstract

Das ifo Institut hat im vergangenen Jahr erstmals Berechnungen zum Verbraucherpreisniveau in Sachsen im Vergleich zu Westdeutschland für den Zeitraum 1991 bis 1996 vorgelegt. Der Beitrag präsentiert die neuesten Ergebnisse für 1997 die zeigen, daß das Verbraucherpreisniveau in Sachsen immer noch niedriger als in Westdeutschland ist. Ausschlaggebend hierfür sind insbesondere die niedrigeren Wohnungsmieten und Nahrungsmittelpreise. Hinzu kommt das niedrigere Preisniveau für viele Dienstleistungen mit staatlich administrierten Preisen. Per Saldo war im Jahr 1991 die Kaufkraft der D-Mark in Sachsen, gemessen am Kaufkraftgefälle, um 31,4% höher als in Westdeutschland.
