Der sächsische Arbeitsmarkt im Oktober 1997

Abstract

Der vorliegende Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die Entwicklung des Arbeitsmarktes im Freistaat Sachsen für den Monat Oktober 1997 und liefert in Tabellen und Grafiken die wichtigsten Eckdaten der Entwicklung. Demnach war in dem neuen Bundesland die Zahl der arbeitslosen Frauen und Männer im Berichtsmonat leicht rückläufig. Im Vergleich zum Vormonat fiel sie um 1.500 auf 379.700. Gegenüber dem Vorjahresmonat stieg die Arbeitslosenzahl jedoch um 84.600 Personen an. Die Arbeitslosenquote belief sich zuletzt auf 18,6%; das war nach Berlin der zweitniedrigste Wert innerhalb der neuen Bundesländer. Dieser Rückgang der Arbeitslosenzahlen dürfte ausschließlich auf saisonale Gründe zurückzuführen sein. Eine Trendwende auf dem Arbeitsmarkt ist nach wie vor nicht in Sicht. Zum Jahresende ist bedingt durch den weiteren Rückgang von ABM-Maßnahmen sowie Fortbildungs- und Umschulungslehrgängen mit einem erneuten Anstieg der Arbeitslosigkeit zu rechnen.
