Verarbeitendes Gewerbe in den neuen Bundesländern : Investitionsrückgang 1997 geringer als erwartet?

Abstract

Der vorliegende Bericht gibt einen Überblick über die Investitionstätigkeit des verarbeitenden Gewerbes in Ostdeutschland für das Wirtschaftsjahr 1996 und gibt einen Ausblick für die Investitionsentwicklung für 1997. Die ifo Umfrage ergab, daß 45,5% der Unternehmen im ostdeutschen verarbeitenden Gewerbe ihre Investitionen reduzieren wollen, 17,5% planen gegenüber dem Vorjahr keine Veränderungen vorzunehmen und 37% rechnen mit einem Anstieg der Investitionen. In diesem Zusammenhang wird auf die jeweiligen Branchen eingegangen und branchenspezifische Unterschiede herausgearbeitet. Insgesamt erwartet man für 1997, daß das Investitionsniveau die Vorjahreswerte lediglich um 2% verfehlt und somit eine Höhe von 16,2 Milliarden DM erreicht. Geprägt ist die Investitionsentwicklung in 1997 von Großprojekten der chemischen, der elektrotechnischen sowie der mineralölverarbeitenden Industrie. Hinzu kommt die verbesserte konjunkturelle Situation, die ebenfalls die Rückentwicklung zum normalen "Investitionsniveau" fördert.
