Investitionen in der ostdeutschen Industrie : 1996 noch auf hohem Niveau

Abstract

Die Auswertungen und Hochrechnungen des ifo Investitionstests "Ost" zeigen, daß die Investitionen im verarbeitenden Gewerbe der neuen Länder mit voraussichtlich 17,5 Mrd. DM 1996 nochmals sehr hoch liegen und damit nur 5% unter dem Maximum aus dem Vorjahr. Maßgeblich für diese recht positive Entwicklung sind außerordentlich hohe Investitionen in der eisenschaffenden und der chemischen Industrie, Investitionen auf erneut extrem hohem Niveau in der Mineralölverarbeitung, weiter sehr hohe Volumina in der elektrotechnischen Industrie sowie eine kräftig steigende Investitionssumme in der Holzbearbeitung. Pro Beschäftigten wird in der ostdeutschen Industrie bereits seit 1992 mehr als doppelt soviel investiert wie in den alten Ländern. Die aus den Einzelmeldungen verbreitet erkennbare Rückentwicklung zu einem normalen Investitionsniveau wurde 1996 noch durch Großprojekte überlagert. Mittel- und langfristig kann die vergleichsweise hohe Investitionsintesität sicher nicht gehalten werden.
