Der kleinbetriebliche sächsische Einzelhandel im Härtetest

Abstract

Zunächst wird mit Blick auf die Gesamtlage des Einzelhandels im Freistaat Sachsen angemerkt, daß das nach der Wiedervereinigung erfolgte dynamische Vordringen moderner westdeutscher Handelssysteme nicht nur zur raschen Auflösung des alten DDR-Versorgungshandels geführt hat, sondern auch zur Akzeptanz grundlegender Leitbilder des Leistungswettbewerbs bei der Bevölkerung. Das größte Problem der kleinen Einzelhändler ist in der Eigenkapitalknappheit zu sehen. Außerdem üben die Großbetriebe, die im Freistaat Sachsen das Westniveau so gut wie erreicht haben, einen starken Wettbewerbsdruck aus. Trotzdem konnte festgestellt werden, daß die Einzelhändler weiterhin in der Gunst der Verbraucher stehen. Die sächsischen Innenstädte sind wenig attraktiv und bieten den Verbrauchern keine Einkaufsatmosphäre mit attraktiven Einkaufserlebnissen. In den neuen Bundesländern ist die Wirtschaftspolitik besonders gefordert. Aufgabe der Wettbewerbspolitik ist es, die Selbsthilfe zu fördern.
