Hohe Sanierungs- und Modernisierungserfordernisse in der ostdeutschen Wasserversorgung

Abstract

Der gesamtdeutsche Wasserhaushalt ist komfortabel ausgestattet: Die öffentliche Wasserwirtschaft beansprucht nur 4 bis 5 % des natürlichen Wasserdargebots. Seit einigen Jahren stagniert die Wassernachfrage, im Durchschnitt ist sie sogar rückläufig. Die Wasserwerke decken den Bedarf zu zwei Drittel aus echtem Grundwasser. Angesichts der verordneten, strengeren Schadstoffgrenzwerte für das Trinkwasser müßte jedoch der Wasserschutz adäquat erhöht werden. Dies führt vor allem im EU-Rahmen zu Interessenkollisionen mit der Landwirtschaft und der chemischen Industrie.
