Abstract

Tourism is evolving rapidly, with an increasing focus on environmental protection, cultural heritage and ecological destinations, which requires strict regulations for their preservation. Both governments and tourism industry players need to collaborate to develop tourism products and services that support the sustainability of destinations and meet tourist demand. This paper aims to highlight the defining aspects of the notion of quality of touristic services and to provide a benchmark for their evaluation. Considering the demands and grievances of the customers, the appreciation of the quality offered by the customers is important to be competitive on the market, and this must also be in accordance with the norms and standards in force. Customer satisfaction through the level of quality achieved is actually an important result in the evaluation and quality assurance of tourist services. The complexity of the methods applied in carrying out the research facilitated the identification of the quality dimension through the prism of the level of customer satisfaction as an effective measurement tool that meets the needs of optimizing the provision of tourist services, and such an evaluation tool can improve the economic performance of the economic entities that carry out their activity in this field. The study highlights the need and importance of awareness of sustainability principles to ensure the sustainable development of the tourism industry and achieve a transition to green tourism.
