Abstract

The labor market of the Republic of Moldova is facing demographic challenges both in terms of quantity and quality of labor. Negative demographic trends consist in the fact that external emigration and lasting negative natural growth lead to accelerated aging of the population and labor force. The age and sex structure of the population is quite inert. The age of the population has a direct impact on the reproduction and physical capacity of the country's human resources. Demographic changes must warn state institutions, as they jeopardize several areas of activity.
