Abstract

The evaluation of the economic impact and efficiency of European Structural Funds at the level of Member States have gained overwhelming importance in the last two decades, searching for answers to questions such as: "what works?", "Why does it work" or "how much does it influence?". This article aims to assess the impact generated by the European Structural Funds granted for the development of tourism infrastructure on the evolution in dynamics of two economic and financial indicators registered by both companies receiving non-reimbursable funds (intervention group) and companies that have developed through own sources (control group), businesses with activity in the field of tourism in the South West Oltenia Region.
