Abstract

The human society is currently faced with multiple and complex challenges, interconnected between them, generated by the slowing down of the growth of the global economy, climate change, geopolitical tensions and changes generated by industry 4.0 (the 4th industrial revolution). It is one natural question that arises: are prepared the economies of the world to manage the risks, generated by these challenges? Through this article, our intention is to draw the attention on the fact that many people have the perception that they are in a period of uncertainty although the society is under an unequaled technological age wherefast answers can be find to many problems. From our point of view, globalization should find answers to this uncertainty. Generally, the paper summarizes some characteristics, definitions and consequences of global risks on the people’slives and society, seeking the answer to the question related to the reason why Romanian’srisks management is not address in the context of global challenges.
