Abstract

Women entrepreneurs create new jobs for themselves and others. This also applies to entrepreneurial men. The difference is that, women entrepreneurs think differently about the business, they have different solutions compared to men in organizing and solving business challenges, as well as in terms of capitalizing on opportunities. Women, when setting up their own business, most often pursue and social goals and have visions with a positive impact on the community. Academic studies argue that, in Romania, women are rather motivated to open a business because of the need for independence and professional fulfillment, which they do not find in the workplace, while men are driven by the need for control and the desire to face new challenges. Sociological studies show that women-led businesses are 14% more focused on opportunities and initiatives, 10% more focused on ethics and integrity, 9% more focused on efficiency and effectiveness and 8% more active in employee development. School can become the place of education and training of women entrepreneurs, but also the place where women who own a business can become involved (if they wish) in the growth of future generations of entrepreneurs. The paper presents aspects of women's entrepreneurship, which is considered one of the challenges of the 21st century, and which, if developed, can contribute to creating a better world.
