Abstract

The economic policy of the Republic of Belarus pays a special attention to the «green» principles. These principles are included in the 2016-2020 Program of social and economic development of the country and in the National plan of action. The development of «green» economy will be directed at the solution of environmental problems, ensuring the economic safety and social stability, as well as shaping additional conditions for sustainable economic growth. The major obstacles for sustainable economic growth are singled out, i.e. the threat of the natural resource depletion, the decline in the quality of the environment. The paper provides an assessment of effectiveness and efficiency of «green» economy on the basis of the criteria of compliance.
