Abstract

The creation of the information society based on the progress of the information technologies represents a major objective among the EU development politics. This paper is an attempt to establish the relative positions of EU countries and, implicitly, of Romania, from the perspective of the penetration and of the use of information technologies in everyday life. The methodology employed is based on using data mining techniques in order to process the specific indicators of the information society.
