Dov'è finita la produttività?

Abstract

È la produttività che favorisce la crescita o l'inverso? Quando si fanno confronti sulla produttività tra Paesi, spesso ci si riferisce alla produttività marginale del lavoro, mentre andrebbe guardata anche la produttività in valore assoluto. I risultati di un confronto tra Francia, Germania e Italia mostrano che non è tanto l'alta produttività che favorisce la crescita economica, ma un elevato tasso di occupazione. La produttività marginale risente degli effetti di composizione del lavoro che vanno tenuti presenti per capirne gli andamenti.
