Abstract

Riferendosi inizialmente a Hood e Dixon, l'autore propone una sommaria ricostruzione comparata del contesto all'origine del NPM. La sua esposizione formula delle ipotesi su come intersecare l'ottica neoliberale, la sua diffusione nei gruppi di decisori politici e il NPM quale complesso di politiche di riforma istituzionale. Altra ipotesi di lavoro è l'incrocio fra NPM e fase "postideologica" della politica democratica, che si proporrebbe come veicolo di competenze, soprattutto tecnico-manageriali, esplicitamente e ultimativamente misurabili.
