Limiti e contraddizioni del New Public Management: una ricerca di Hood e Dixon

Abstract

Hood e Dixon, partendo dai fondamenti teorici e poi politici del NPM, ricostruiscono accuratamente le sue finalità originarie. Il testo prosegue nell'esporre i risultati di ricerche sul campo, che hanno inteso verificare quanto il NPM abbia ottenuto i risultati propostisi: fondamentalmente "uno Stato che costi meno e funzioni meglio". Secondo le conclusioni, i costi non paiono diminuiti e l'efficienza, misurata soprattutto attraverso i ricorsi legittimi dei cittadini, pare peggiorata.
