Abstract

Il libro qui recensito, Politicising Commodification: European Governance and Labour Politics from the Financial Crisis to the Covid Emergency di R. Erne, S. Stand, D. Golden, I. Szabó e V. Maccarrone (2024), permette di valutare le politiche dell’UE sia dal punto di vista delle dinamiche istituzionali che dei suoi orientamenti sociali. Dal punto di vista istituzionale, viene messa in evidenza una deriva tecnocratica e accentratrice della Commissione europea a scapito di tutti gli altri attori, sia quelli istituzionali come il Parlamento, sia quelli sociali a partire dai sindacati. Dal punto di vista degli orientamenti sociali, viene documentato, con una rassegna dettagliata degli atti, il prevalente orientamento a favore del mercato e dei beni privati contro quelli pubblici. Il libro è stato pensato per gli attivisti sociali e i sindacalisti.
