Inflation in Italy

Abstract

Nel 2022 l’inflazione in Italia è stata dell’8,7%, l’incremento dei prezzi più ampio osservato dalla metà degli anni Ottanta. La crescita generalizzata dei prezzi nel nostro Paese, come in tutte le economie occidentali, è dovuta soprattutto all’aumento del prezzo dei beni energetici. In Italia, le politiche per ridurre gli effetti dell’inflazione si sono limitate a concedere sussidi a favore di famiglie e imprese. È mancata una politica che affrontasse le cause strutturali legate alla nostra dipendenza dalle importazioni di gas e petrolio, all’inefficienza dei mercati dell’energia, all’assenza di una politica industriale che favorisse cambiamenti produttivi e transizione ecologica. L’inflazione ripropone il conflitto distributivo prodotto dall’aumento dei prezzi e l’esigenza di una politica dei redditi che metta al centro la difesa dei salari reali
