Quo Vadis, Europa. A Critical Assessment in Three and a Half Movements

Abstract

Il saggio presenta una rassegna, teoricamente orientata, su tre prospettive interpretative concernenti lo sviluppo e la crisi in Europa, proposte da autori differenti (Halevi, Celi-Ginzburg-Guarascio- Simonazzi e Saraceno). Se ne sottolinea la ricchezza e, in molti aspetti, la loro complementarità, ma se ne evidenziano anche le tensioni interne e alcuni limiti. Il testo propone un discorso unitario, a volte basandosi sulle argomentazioni prese in prestito da tali autori, altre volte instaurando un dialogo con gli stessi. La prospettiva adottata nel saggio è volutamente parziale, e fornisce una critica che vuol far emergere la “verità internaµ dei lavori analizzati, mostrando come essi siano in grado di illuminare i termini delle sfide attuali. In conclusione, si sosterrà la tesi secondo la quale la pandemia da coronavirus potrebbe spostare il focus della discussione e aprire nuove prospettive in termini di politica economica e intervento sociale, o, se si preferisce, detto in modo più semplice ma anche più diretto, in termini di sfide a livello politico e di azioni urgenti da intraprendere
