Abstract

proceedings that pursue those bearing the greatest responsibility for the electoral violence that has plagued the country since the early 1990s. The ICC is thus Kenya’s only hope for breaking the country’s record of complete impunity, which would constitute an unprecedented achievement. Nonetheless, numerous expectations that go beyond the imprisonment of a few perpetrators appear unrealistic.
