Abolitionnistes et réglementaristes : la bataille autour du protocole contre la traite des personnes. De la Convention des Nations Unies contre la criminalité transnationale organisée

Abstract

The Protocol to prevent, suppress and punish trafficking in persons, especially women and children, supplementing the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime structure at present international policies on trafficking in persons. Because the trafficking in persons is above all for purposes of prostitution (some 80-92 % of the cases), the analysis concentrates on this aspect and puts in evidence the fact that the Protocol is the fruit of a compromise between the regulationists and the abolitionists. The interpretation of this Protocol depends on balance of power between these two currents, what has important consequences on the status of the victims and on the fight against trafficking.
