Abstract

Little research focuses on participants as readers of the research. Narrative journalism (NJ) is a storytelling method that takes into account these lect?actors. First, this methodological article explores the specificities of NJ with regard to qualitative research methods. Based on an empirical case study and drawing on Eco?s work in Lector in Fabula, we show how NJ participates in the dynamical et dialectical process of sensemaking and sensegiving (Gioia and Chittipeddi, 1991; Weick et al., 2005), both for researchers and participants.
