Abstract

This article summarizes the results of a re-foundation of science management. It starts from the Roman ?bene gesta? theory which linked rational action and civic responsibility. Unthinkable in ?economicist? modernity, this notion comes back with Henry Fayol?s administrative theory and the company?s modern. However, management theory forgets Fayol and reduced to the quest for performance in the shareholder company. Today, linking rationality and responsibility leads to on a science of collective action that has contributed to the theory of the conception and redefinition of ?enterprise? in the law French
