L'expérience française du supply chain management

Abstract

Although the effective advantages of implementing a supply chain (SC) strategy are reported in countless case studies and clinical applications in the literature, a large gap remains between empirical and scientific contributions. In particular, the relationship between SCM and benefits for partners and customers has received little attention. This paper seeks to fill part of the gap with an empirical investigation into French experiences of SCM. A survey of 146 French companies was recently conducted using a 40-item questionnaire to investigate some of the main themes of SCM. The survey comprised three levels of analysis: who is involved in SCM, why firms seek integration with others and how the SC partners can benefit from SCM.
