Abstract

Political islam has been dominating the muslim society for thirty years. But a new islamic way of life and a new venue for mobilization is on the rise: a less politicized and a more ?market oriented? islam. This ?market-oriented islam?, resulting from the interaction between Islam and the ?new spirit of capitalism?, enhances values such as self achievement and innovation, coming from the management literature and compatible with the precepts of Islam. To be the architect of one?s life is a new objective, and can be an islamic project with virtues such as openness to others or brotherhood.
