Mise en place d'une organisation du travail technoscientifique autour du potentiel des cellules souches embryonnaires humaines

Abstract

In January 2005, the laboratory I-STEM is found to develop all the known potential of human embryonic stem cells with therapeutic purposes. Supported by INSERM and AFM, it aims to make a link between fundamental and technological research in a same place and it will thus outline a « non profit » technoscientific production process. In such a context, what type of work organization is being set up at I-STEM in order to ensure its success? To what extent can science and industry find a balance ? After to have distinguished three models of articulation between academic research and industry, the article aims to answer these questions by showing that the productive combination of laboratory I-STEM is similar to « integrative convergence » model which suggests a penetration of industry in science.
