Abstract

Baumol’s Law is often used to justify budgetary restrictions and is often presented in a hasty manner. We will return to this concept, which was first proposed to analyse the performing arts sector, but we will also discuss some of the criticisms of this law, which is commonly referred to as the « cost disease ».
