10. Hiérarchies monétaires et hiérarchies écologiques Leçons et perspectives de la crise du COVID-19

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the preexisting fragilities of the global monetary and financial system. It thus sheds a stark light on the monetary hierarchies between countries. In this way, it also makes it possible to draw a link between these monetary hierarchies and certain types of ecological hierarchies that confine some countries to reserve accumulation strategies based on raw material exports. Achieving a carbon neutrality goal on a global scale, as the Paris Agreement binds us to do, implies a profound evolution of this architecture. We contemplate some possible avenues in this respect in the context of the responses to the COVID-19 crisis.
