5. La France est-elle condamnée au déséquilibre de ses institutions ?

Abstract

French constitutional history has long been illustrated by a large variety of regimes. On the left, the tradition had been to refuse a complete adhesion to a definite constitution. The Fifth Republic had been seen as the beginning of a constitutional consensus. But the recent evolution of the last fifteen years has been characterized by the return of criticisms against the current constitution. It remains to be seen if the current constitutional debate should limit itself to the French situation or should integrate the question of a constitutional reform for the EU.
