7. La « figure de l’entrepreneur » est-elle absente de l’analyse économique ?

Abstract

The entrepreneur is often seen as a key player to understand the dynamics of growth. Yet the neoclassical analysis hardly seems to have given him space. Neither risk nor information asymmetries, nor even the possibility of inefficiency in the production process, seem to allow it to highlight the specific function of the entrepreneur. It is only gradually, developing an analysis of innovation, that the neoclassical mainstream has internalized a ?figure of the entrepreneur? inspired by Schumpeter. Incidentally, the result is a non-marginal change in how market efficiency is perceived. It is no longer static but dynamic and requires a certain tolerance vis à vis market power as long as it is the counterpart to the creation of value through innovation.
