La régulation des marchés du travail artistique au Cameroun : le cas de l’industrie de la musique

Abstract

This article examines the impact of policies regulating artistic activity on the gain function of music industry operators. Of the 228 artists in the database used, only 36.07 % say they are satisfied with their gain. 35.15 % are affiliated with the Civil Society of Copyright Management, 26.48 % receive grants, and 54.39 % work in the informal sector. After implementing a probit model, it appears that these policies have mixed effects on the artists? gain function. This conclusion corroborates the arguments of authors who are against the intervention of the state in the artistic work market, and goes against the opinion of those who advocate for state support for artists.
