À travers quels canaux les transferts des migrants promeuvent-ils le capital humain et la croissance ?

Abstract

This paper attempts to examine the effect of remittances on human capital and growth. SGMM estimates based on panel data from 19 developing countries show that remittances speed up the accumulation of human capital and stimulate economic growth. The remittances effect on human capital is more important in countries where the level of public expenditure on education is high and in countries where per capita income is low. These results suggest that remittances act along with policies aiming to develop human capital. Remittances may also contribute to finance education expenditures among low-income households.
