La gouvernance du marché de la publication scientifique à l’ère du numérique : une analyse de la connaissance scientifique en tant que commons

Abstract

The nature of knowledge as an economic good is determined by the rivalry and the excludability of the good, but also by the bundle of rights regulating the reuse and access to the resource. Although the digitalization has transformed the knowledge into a non-rival good, it is the transition from a public to a private ordering system that can result in the establishment of the knowledge as a commons. We apply the Institutional Analysis Development framework to the scientific publishing market to understand the impact of the digitalization of information over the different stakeholders? interests and the scientific knowledge value chain.
