Le lobbying Européen de la défense et de la sécurité vis-a-vis des institutions communautaires : une approche bi-sectorielle

The European defense industry lobby plays an important role in the emergence of the European defense policy. Within the framework of evolutionary institutionalism, this article sets out to examine the role of defense and security lobbying, in order to analyze the influence of the private sector powers on the causal cumulative process leading to the establishment and development of the EU institutions. The analysis consists of two parts: in the first part, we will provide an institutionalist reading by setting the theoretical framework. We will use the study of Beckley on industry lobbyists to describe the members of the lobby. In the second part, we will conduct an empirical analysis based on a statistical analysis, which will aim to demonstrate the weight of the components of the public and private sectors on the lobbying.
