În acest context, articolul analizează necesitatea creşterii rolului bibliotecii în dezvoltarea calitativă a demersului de învăţământ şi cercetare şi aduce în atenţie câteva posibile soluţii care includ şi un parteneriat între diversele tipuri de biblioteci, asociaţii profesionale ale bibliotecarilor şi organizaţii non-guvernamentale pentru educaţia prin bibliotecă şi salvgardarea lecturii
