K teoretickým a praktickým hospodársko-politickým aspektom pojmu Stredomorská únia

Abstract

Článok analyzuje nový projekt európskej integrácie, ktorý súvisí s úsilím transformovať existujúci model EMFTA na „model Stredomorskej únie“ . Európska politika susedstva neumožnila zatiaľ dostatočný pokrok v obchodnej a ekonomickej integrácii v regióne, ktorý je tak pre EÚ, ako aj všetky krajiny Stredomoria životne dôležitý. Aj v ére globalizácie je geografia stále dôležitá. Nový návrh Nicolasa Sarkozyho z roku 2007 o Stredomorskej únii bol preto hodne diskutovaný médiami, odborníkmi na medzinárodné vzťahy, ako aj politikmi. Cieľom vedeckého článku je zaradiť uvedený model a nový pojem do systému teórie ekonomickej integrácie a teórie ekonomického komplexu, a to v kontexte praktických hospodársko-politických aspektov procesu integračného vývoja v Európe.
