Miesto kultúrnej dimenzie medzinárodných vzťahov v teórii medzinárodných vzťahov

Abstract

Autorka skúma otázku aké miesto pripisujú teoretici funkciám kultúr v medzinárodných procesoch. Vychádza z predpokladu, že všeobecná teória medzinárodných vzťahov je založená na štyroch dimenziách, a to na politickej, ekonomickej, bezpečnostnej a kultúrnej. V článku sa konštatuje, že na rozdiel od prvých troch dimenzií, kultúra je nositeľom tzv. mäkkej moci (soft power) štátu. Táto moc štátu v súčasnom globálnom svete sa transformuje, hlavne v dôsledku vzniku nových aktérov svetovej politiky ako sú napríklad medzinárodné organizácie. Na ich pôde sa vytvára nová forma multilateralizmu založená na politike uznania odlišných kultúrnych identít aktérov. Avšak kultúrna diverzita globálneho sveta sa môže stať v dôsledku fundamentalistickej politiky aj prameňom medzietnických a medzinárodných konfliktov.
