Die Privat-Sparkasse zu Lerbach als Genossenschaftsbank mit den ältesten Wurzeln

Abstract

Der Artikel analysiert die Entstehungsgeschichte der Privat-Sparkasse zu Lerbach hinsichtlich der Verwirklichung genossenschaftlicher Prinzipien. Er untersucht damit, inwiefern die Privat-Sparkasse der Bezeichnung als "älteste genossenschaftliche Kreditorganisation" gerecht wird. Dazu zeichnet er die Entstehungsgeschichte der Privat-Sparkasse im Kontext der örtlichen und regionalen Besonderheiten im Oberharz nach und ordnet die Organisationsform der Privat-Sparkasse in die Entwicklungsgeschichte moderner Genossenschaften ein. Entscheidend für die Entstehung der Privat-Sparkasse zu Lerbach ist die 1770 vor Ort gegründete Sterbekasse sowie die 1783 gegründete "Begräbnis-Societät zu Lerbach". Die Privat-Sparkasse selbst wird 1825 gegründet. Der Artikel folgt ihrer Entwicklung bis zu ihrer Umwandlung in eine eGmbH im Jahr 1900.
