Abstract

Die nichtfinanzielle Berichterstattung, oftmals auch als Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung bezeichnet, gewinnt immer größere Bedeutung im Rahmen der Unternehmensberichterstattung. Zielsetzung des Beitrags ist die Analyse, inwieweit Genossenschaftsbanken und Sparkassen in ihrer nichtfinanziellen Berichterstattung ihre Alleinstellungsmerkmale, die eindeutige Nachhaltigkeitsbezüge aufweisen, herausarbeiten. Um dies empirisch überprüfen zu können, werden zunächst Kriterien zur Herausstellung der Spezifika abgeleitet, die dann mit Hilfe einer qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse ausgewertet werden. Im Ergebnis zeigt sich, dass sowohl die Genossenschaftsbanken als auch die Sparkassen ihre Besonderheiten hinsichtlich der Nachhaltigkeit hervorheben, aber in einigen Themengebieten (z. B. lokale Aktivitäten, Mitbestimmung) eine noch stärkere Herausarbeitung möglich wäre.
