Verschenkte Zeit? – zur Motivation und Förderung ehrenamtlichen Engagements in ländlichen Genossenschaften

Abstract

Die Engagementforschung beschäftigt sich seit vielen Jahren mit Fragen der Motivation zur ehrenamtlichen Beteiligung. Genossenschaften wurden hierbei aber bislang eher selten betrachtet. In unserer Untersuchung haben wir Ansätze der Engagementforschung und der allgemeinen Genossenschaftsforschung verbunden, um das Ehrenamt in Waren- und Dienstleistungsgenossenschaften genauer zu beschreiben. Ziel der Untersuchung war es eine Bestandsaufnahme und einen explorativen empirischen Beitrag zur Struktur und Motivation des Ehrenamts in Waren- und Dienstleistungsgenossenschaften zu leisten. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass Genossenschaften vor der Herausforderung stehen, ihre Gremien zu verjüngen und vielseitiger zu gestalten sowie im Zuge der eigenen Veränderungen die Kommunikation mit den Mitgliedern zu erhalten.
